Paco Lluch

Born in Alzira (Valencia). He began his music studies at the Alzira Musical Society. In 1985 he continued his double bass studies in Madrid with Rubén Giorgis. In 1989, with a scholarship from the J.O.N.D.E, he entered the “Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst” in Vienna, where he perfected his studies under the direction of Maestro Ludwig Streicher.

 

He has participated in numerous National and International Courses, working with Professors Ferrán Sala, Josef Niederhammer, Ludwig Streicher, Dianne Ganette, Harke Wiersma, Wolfang Güntler, Duncan McTier, Slavomir Grenda, Gary Karr. He was a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Spain (JONDE) under the direction of Edmon Colomer, from 1987 to 1992. In 1991, after receiving a scholarship from Yale University, he moved to the United States to further his studies in Double Bass, chamber music, and orchestra with Dianne Ganette.

 

He has played as a soloist in different chamber music and symphonic groups.

In 2012 he premiered the Double Bass Concerto by the composer Vicente Roncero, at the Palau de la Música, with the Orchestra of the University of Valencia. Since 2009 they created the Kluster Duo, with pianist Kei Hikichi, performing recitals on several Spanish stages.

He has participated in different programs with the Madrid Symphony Orchestra “Arbós”, Spanish Radio Television Orchestra, National Orchestra of Spain, Valencia Orchestra, Vienna Hochschule für Musik Orchestra, Yale University Orchestra (USA ), Cadaques Orchestra, “Joaquin Rodrigo” Chamber Orchestra, Grup Instrumentale, Camerata Virtuosi, Castello Symphony Orchestra, Bandart Orchestra, among other ensembles.

He has been Professor of the Galician Symphony Orchestra, the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra and the Valencia Orchestra. Since the 2002-2011 academic year he has been an Associate Professor at the Superior Conservatory of Music of Palma de Mallorca.

In the 2017/18 academic year he was a teacher at the Forum Musicae Madrid.

He currently holds the position of Professor of Double Bass at the “José Iturbi” Conservatory in Valencia.
