We conceive education as a whole set of diverse teachings, all rooted in an unambiguous intention to prepare youngsters to act fairly in the world -as the planet suffers from the unrelenting known issues we see and read about every day. We believe in music as a vehicle of social interaction, as a compound activity that educates by empathy, physical self-awareness, and personal improvement. We maintain that musical instruction must contain the enhancement of rational analysis, acute perception, and healthy self-critique.
Our syllabus contains a diversified set of classes that depart from personal instruction on the chosen instrument, to music history, musical analysis, ear training, and choir practice. The novel addition of several introductions to mathematics, logical analysis, text comprehension, and humanities will bring necessary tools for the youth to become aware citizens of the world.
Science provides assessments about the neural activity when performing, listening music: interaction between both hemispheres, as it involves both emotional and rational functioning. Music acts reducing stress, pain and symptoms of depression, improving cognitive and motor skills, At its core, music is structural, architectural and it serves mathematical analysis, as the brain must perform multiple tasks when making sense of melodies and rhythms.
The functioning of an orchestra could be interpreted as a fractal of many functioning activities in society: there are constant elements of interactive collaboration among its members, an objective need of applying empathy in order to relate individual production to collective production, a hierarchical order that needs to be constantly assessed when performing.

Our mission is to provide musical instruction coupled with planet awareness to a segment of the young population in the Galápagos. The multifold set of classes involves music making, readings in humanities, introductory courses on science, and a diverse instruction in social and environmental awareness. The pursue of excellence in music performing, the focus on a round education, and the comprobable influence of our work to social change summarize our main objectives.
