Juan Cristobal Palacios

Native of Venezuela, Palacios began his musical studies at an early age. In 1982, Juan Cristóbal left for the United States of America to continue and formalize his music studies. During those student years at Boston University and later at Yale University under the tutelage of Eiji Oue and Eleazar de Carvalho, he was involved in the premiere of more than 50 contemporary works as well as works from the standard orchestra’s repertoire. In the summers, he attended the Aspen Music Festival and the Pierre Monteux School of Music.
Back on his home land, Palacios made his professional debut at age 24 appearing as a guest conductor with the Simón Bolívar Youth Orchestra of Venezuela. Later, in 1993 Palacios was appointed President and Music Director of the Fundación Sinfónica Juvenil de Chacao. Palacios where he built one of the most prestigious musical programs in the capital. He integrated the resources of a group of high-level professors and designed a program for young musicians where the disciplines of soloists, chamber music and orchestral practice were integrated as one. Young students were exposed to all the instrumental disciplines necessary for a comprehensive and complete understanding of their instrument’s development. He was awarded the order of the first class of “José María y Bote”, the highest artistic award granted by the Mayor’s Office of Chacao.
For the years 2002-2004 Palacios expanded his teaching work. He worked as a professor of Theory at the Universidad Central de Venezuela and as conductor and Music Director of its Chamber Orchestra. His work as a musician in Venezuela was interrupted by the political situation that his country was going through and in 2007 he moved with his family to the USA.
In 2010 he became part of the music faculty at the San Diego Youth Symphony and Conservatory where he was appointed conductor of several ensembles, teaching chamber music, helped on the instrumental development, as well as a member of the community music program, Opus.
His work as an educator has led Palacios to work in up-and-coming youth music programs in Guayaquil, Ecuador and the National Institute of Art (NIA) musical program in Saint Maarten. Since 2022, Palacios has been the Music Director at ELM (Enriching Lives through Music) in San Francisco, USA. This socio-cultural program provides the opportunity for low-income students to learn music and use the tools of that learning process to improve their life skills and become better citizens.

Michael Martin Kofler

MICHAEL MARTIN KOFLER completed his studies with distinction at the Vienna Musikhochschule with Werner Tripp and Wolfgang Schulz and at the Musikakademie in Basel with Peter-Lukas Graf.

While still a student, age 21, in 1987 he became solo flutist of the Gustav Mahler Youth Symphony Orchestra under Claudio Abbado, and he was invited by Sergiu Celibidache to assume the same position with the Munich Philharmonic. He has won several prizes in international competitions, including the Mercadante, Prague, and ARD as well as prizes from the Munich Concert Society, Austrian state of Carinthia and Austrian Education Minister and the Culture Prize of his native city of Villach, Austria.

Michael Martin Kofler has presented many concerto, recital, and chamber music performances worldwide. He has appeared s soloist with the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, the Philharmonic and Symphony Orchestras of Prague, Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Salzburg, Linz Warsaw, and Zagreb and the Vienna, Munich, and Württemberg Chamber Orchestras, among many others.

Since 2016, he has conducted numerous orchestras including the Pforzheim Chamber Orchestra, Györ Philharmonic Orchestra (Hungary), Sinfonietta Cracovia (Poland), and the Suwon Philharmonic Orchetsra (Korea).

 

Since 1989 Michael Martin Kofler has taught as full-time professor for flute at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg. He has been invited to serve on the juries at significant competitions and gives regular masterclasses in Europe, Asia and the USA.

 

Mr.Kofler has made several CDs: concertos by C.P.E. Bach, Quantz,,and Mercadante ( Discover International); the piccolo concerto of Boris Papandopulo ( Classic Production Osnabrück); the Khatchaturian flute concerto ( Universität Mozarteum Salzburg), and all Mozart Quartetts as well as Michael Haydn quartet ( Mozartiana Classics)

Tomasz Liebig

Tomasz Liebig has received top prizes in national and international competitions in Europe (Warsaw, Poznan, Moscow) and in The United States (Los Angeles, Long Beach, Miami, Boca Raton).  In addition he has been awarded scholarships from the J.Heifetz Foundation, Holland Music Festival Scholarship, National Music Camp Scholarship in Interlochen, USA.

 

Born in Warsaw, Poland, Tomasz Liebig has been performing to the acclaim of audiences worldwide since his debut with orchestra at the age of twelve in Warsaw, Poland.  His teachers include Irena Dubiska at the J.Elsner Music School in Warsaw, Ruggiero Ricci at the Carl Flesch Academie in Baden-Baden, Robert Lipsett at the University of Southern California and Thomas Moore and Robert Rozek at the University of Miami where he received his Doctorate in Musical Arts.  He has participated in masterclasses with Shlomo Mintz, Ruggiero Ricci, Aarond Rosand, Eugene Fodor, Valery Klimov, Tadeusz Gadzina, Mark Peskanov and has performed at festivals in Interlochen – Michigan, Miami – Florida, Aubenas – France, Toledo – Ohio, The Society of The Four Arts – Palm Beach, Slupsk, Radom, Szczecin, Warsaw – Poland, Cairo and Alexandria – Egypt.

 

Tomasz Liebig was a violinist in The Bergonzi String Quartet in residence at the University of Miami and an assistant concertmaster of the Miami Ballet Orchestra and the Boca Symphonic Pops Orchestra.  Since February 2000 Mr.Liebig is a concertmaster of the acclaimed Bruckner Orchester Linz in Austria.
In January 2006 Mr.Liebig  became also a concertmaster of Spirit of Europe Orchestra in Austria.  With Spirit of Europe Orchestra he recorded recently W.A.Mozart´s Haffner Serenade which is released on Octavia Label in Japan and Gramola Vienna Label in Europe.

 

Tomasz Liebig has appeared in television and radio in Poland, the U.S.A., France, Austria, Venezuela, has recorded CD´s (Centaur, Fleur de Son, Octavia) and has appeared in solo and chamber music performances as well as with orchestras in Argentina, France, Austria, Slovenia, Poland, Venezuela, Egypt, Germany and the U.S..  His repertoire ranges from Baroque music to recently written violin works.

 

Tomasz Liebig is playing on an Italian master violin,  Florinus Guidantus dated 1726.

 

Giuseppe Naviglio

Born in Bari, he began private studies with Gino Lorusso Toma, and Rina Filippini Del Monaco. Further studies with Paride Venturi. He graduated in literature with top honors from the University of Bari. He made his debut as “Don Bartolo” in the Barber of Seville. He was then engaged in the Bonn Opera (Germany) from 1992 to 1996. There he participated in more than 200 performances (Carmen, Der Rosenkavalier, Tosca, Werther, Salome) alongside renowned singers (Domingo, Miles, B. Daniels, Giacobini) under the guidance of stage directors such as Del Monaco, K. Russell, W. Schroeter, and conductors such as D.R. Davies, M. Sasson, S. Mercurio, S. Argiris, D Anzolini.

 

Since 1996 he has been a soloist for “I Torchini” ensemble of Naples, and its artistic director Antonio Flora, with whom he performed in concert and operas in th most prestigious theaters, halls, and festivals around the world, as the Konzerthaus in Vienna, Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, Zarzuela of Madrid, Théatre des Champs Elisées of Paris, Filarmonica in Roma, among many other ones.

 

In his long list of concerts and recordings with “I Torching” one may find operas and oratorios  composed by Provenzale, Latilla, Vinci, Paisiello, Jommelli, Cavaslli and Purcell, whereas his live participation in opera houses entailed repertoire as L’Elisir d’amore, Tosca, Don Giovanni, Nozze di Figaro, La Serva Padrona from both Pergolesi and Paisiello, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, among many other titles. In the Oratorio repertoire, his appearances on Johann Sebastian Bach’s St John’s Passion and Magnificat, Rossini’s Easter Oratorio, Rossini’s Messe Solemnelle, Stravinky’s Pulcinella, Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, And Mozart’s Requiem.

 

He has sang in world premieres by composers Nicola Scardicchio, Bruno Moretti, G.Tamborrino, G. Panariello, Brunetti Amendola, and S. Monterisi among others. In 2015 he sang in the Italian Premiere of Philip Glass’ Akhenaten for the MITO Festival in Torino and Milano under Mo. Anzolini. He sang in the Serata Colorata ion occasion of the Day of Remembrance in the Auditorium Parco della Music in Ronmas (2017).

 

He has made several recordings for prestigious record companies (Glossa, Opus 111, Naive) some of which have been awarded important international recognition as Timbre de Platine, Diapson D’Ir, 10 di Repertoire, Christmas Choice, BBC Review, Choc (from Le monde de las musique), and Goldberg Prize.

 

As a teacher he has held vocal technique and interpretation courses at the Farinelli Association of Andria, La Cappella della Pietà dei Turchini”, Royamount Music Foundation, Conservatory of Monopoli, International Masterclass for Young Opera Singers in Tern, Montalbano Jonico, Corradiana Chapel of Molfetta.

 

As instructor/vocal coach in choruses, he works for the Harmonia Chori of The University of Bari, for choirs in Foggia, Brindisi, Barletta, the A.R.CO.PU choir, He has made recordings for the Dutch, Spanish, Israeli, Austrian, French, English, and Swiss Radios, for the Franco-German “Arte” TV, for the BBC and for the RAI television networks.

 

He held the chais of Historical Singing at the Piccinni Conservatory of Bari.

 

He is the Artistic Director of the “Harmonia” Association and its choir and orchestra for the University of Bari

Paco Lluch

Born in Alzira (Valencia). He began his music studies at the Alzira Musical Society. In 1985 he continued his double bass studies in Madrid with Rubén Giorgis. In 1989, with a scholarship from the J.O.N.D.E, he entered the “Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst” in Vienna, where he perfected his studies under the direction of Maestro Ludwig Streicher.

He has participated in numerous National and International Courses, working with Professors Ferrán Sala, Josef Niederhammer, Ludwig Streicher, Dianne Ganette, Harke Wiersma, Wolfang Güntler, Duncan McTier, Slavomir Grenda, Gary Karr. He was a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Spain (JONDE) under the direction of Edmon Colomer, from 1987 to 1992. In 1991, after receiving a scholarship from Yale University, he moved to the United States to further his studies in Double Bass, chamber music, and orchestra with Dianne Ganette.

He has played as a soloist in different chamber music and symphonic groups.

In 2012 he premiered the Double Bass Concerto by the composer Vicente Roncero, at the Palau de la Música, with the Orchestra of the University of Valencia. Since 2009 they created the Kluster Duo, with pianist Kei Hikichi, performing recitals on several Spanish stages.

He has participated in different programs with the Madrid Symphony Orchestra “Arbós”, Spanish Radio Television Orchestra, National Orchestra of Spain, Valencia Orchestra, Vienna Hochschule für Musik Orchestra, Yale University Orchestra (USA ), Cadaques Orchestra, “Joaquin Rodrigo” Chamber Orchestra, Grup Instrumentale, Camerata Virtuosi, Castello Symphony Orchestra, Bandart Orchestra, among other ensembles.

He has been Professor of the Galician Symphony Orchestra, the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra and the Valencia Orchestra. Since the 2002-2011 academic year he has been an Associate Professor at the Superior Conservatory of Music of Palma de Mallorca.

In the 2017/18 academic year he was a teacher at the Forum Musicae Madrid.

He currently holds the position of Professor of Double Bass at the “José Iturbi” Conservatory in Valencia.

Kevin Vigneau

Kevin Vigneau has enjoyed an international career as an orchestral player, soloist, teacher and chamber musician. He is Professor of Oboe at the University of New Mexico and principal oboe of the New Mexico Philharmonic. He also served as principal oboe of the Cape Town Symphony Orchestra and the Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa, and English Horn with the Opera Company of Boston Orchestra. He performs with the Santa Fe Opera Orchestra.

 

As a recitalist and soloist he has performed in Guayaquil, Rio de Janeiro, Lisbon, Banff, Xalapa, Morelia, Amsterdam, Johannesburg, Cape Town, the Azores, Taiwan, Cologne, and at many colleges and universities in the United States. He has recorded for EMI Classics, Summit and Centaur Records as well as for the South African Broadcasting Society. He has performed as a chamber musician with Music from Angel Fire and the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival.

 

Kevin Vigneau holds a Doctor of Musical Arts from Yale University where he studied with Ronald Roseman and where he was awarded the Dean’s Prize for the outstanding member of the graduating class. He also studied with Ralph Gomberg and Laurence Thorstenberg at Boston University.

The Cape Times called Dr. Vigneau “a consummate instrumentalist, who brings to the task technical facility, abundant musicality and a keen intellect.”
